- Login to WP-Admin – it’s going to automatically take you to the dashboard.
- From the menu on the left hand side, select ‘media’ and then ‘library.’
- If you want to add a new file, select ‘add new’, and either upload or drag and drop the required file. Or, if you want to use a file already in the media library, select the file you want to use. Then on the right hand side, select ‘Copy URL to clipboard.’
- On the menu on the left hand side, select ‘Pages.’
- Hover over the page where the hyperlink is present, and select ‘edit’
- Find the section of the page where the hyperlink lives, select ‘content’ and then choose ‘visual’ on the right hand side so you can read the text easily.
- Highlight the hyperlink, select the pen icon, and paste the existing URL with the new URL you have just copied.
- Select ‘update’ on the top right corner
- Check that the new link is working as intended.
**Note: if the section where your hyperlink lives is part of a global element, you will need to update the hyperlink under the ‘Global Elements’ section from the menu on the left hand side.
