How to Update an Attachment that a Hyperlink is Pointing to

1. Login to WP-Admin – it’s going to automatically take you to the dashboard. 
2. From the menu on the left hand side, select ‘media’ and then ‘library.’ 
3. If you want to add a new file, select ‘add new’, and either upload or drag and drop the required file. Or, if you want to use a file already in the media library, select the file you want to use. Then on the right hand side, select ‘Copy URL to clipboard.’
4. On the menu on the left hand side, select ‘Pages.’ 
5. Hover over the page where the hyperlink is present, and select ‘edit’
6. Find the section of the page where the hyperlink lives, select ‘content’ and then choose ‘visual’ on the right hand side so you can read the text easily. 
7. Highlight the hyperlink, select the pen icon, and paste the existing URL with the new URL you have just copied.
8. Select ‘update’ on the top right corner
9. Check that the new link is working as intended.

**Note: if the section where your hyperlink lives is part of a global element, you will need to update the hyperlink under the ‘Global Elements’ section from the menu on the left hand side.
